What wired camera brands do you recommend?
We’ve worked with nearly every camera system available on the market today. Some of the brands we frequently install are Ring, Lorex, Reolink, LTS, Ubiquiti, Hikvision, and Deep Sentinel for monitored systems. The best choice really depends on your specific needs, but we particularly like Reolink for their wide range of camera options, which allow for a customized security setup.
Which Reolink camera system would you suggest?
We usually recommend the 8-camera Reolink system, which you can easily find on Amazon. It’s a robust option that offers excellent value for the price, typically around $950 when using available coupon codes. The system also comes with a 4TB NVR for video storage, which provides plenty of space for all your recordings.
What wireless cameras do you recommend?
We’re big fans of Ring products for wireless systems. Their versatility is unmatched, offering a variety of options like doorbell cameras, wireless solar-powered cameras, and floodlight cameras. Although there’s a $10 monthly fee for cloud storage, the features and reliability make it well worth the investment.
How do you handle wiring for wired camera installations?
For single-story homes, we typically run the wiring through the attic and drop it into a closet or room with power access. For two-story homes, the process is a bit more complex, as the attic is usually higher. We aim to place cameras at the first-floor level and often work out of the garage, using conduit piping to hide the wires as much as possible. Regardless of the setup, we have several methods to ensure even a two-story home is properly covered.
My Wi-Fi is weak—can I still install wireless cameras?
If your Wi-Fi is weak, we can resolve this issue by installing a mesh Wi-Fi system. This setup enhances your existing network by adding satellite routers around your home, boosting the signal strength and ensuring your wireless cameras perform optimally.
Can you purchase the cameras for me?
We run my business a little differently. We don’t sell or buy camera equipment for our clients. When you purchase equipment directly through retailers like Costco or Amazon, you benefit from their warranties and return policies. Many other companies require you to buy equipment from them, which can lead to higher service fees later on. Buying the equipment yourself helps avoid these issues.
What areas do you serve?
We serve the entire Bay Area and surrounding areas within about an hour's drive, including Monterey, Marin, Vacaville, and Livermore. Most of our clients are local to Santa Clara County, but we're happy to travel a bit further if needed.
Do you offer free consultations?
If you live in Santa Clara County, we generally offer free consultations. If we're already scheduled for an installation in your area, we can usually squeeze in a consultation at no cost. For other areas, we typically charge a $75 trip fee.
Do you offer discounts?
We don’t usually offer discounts because we charge flat rates for our labor to keep pricing transparent and predictable. This ensures all customers receive fair, consistent pricing. However, we're always happy to discuss your project and answer any pricing questions you might have.
Do you offer a warranty on your work?
Yes! We provide a 1-year labor warranty on all installations. If any adjustments or tweaks are needed, we’ll come back free of charge within the first year. After that, we only charge a small trip fee, and most service work is either free or charged at a low hourly rate. Our goal is to make sure everything runs smoothly long after installation.
